Why not just apply directly?

You could. Here's what going through us actually gets you.

We submit for you

Not a forwarded résumé — a positioned pitch to someone who already knows us, highlighting exactly why you fit. Cold applications get filtered by an ATS; ours get read.

You track everything

Every submission logged in real time — where, to whom, and when. No black box, no wondering if anyone's actually looking at your materials.

We keep adding new jobs every day and vetted hiring managers

Real relationships with decision-makers, growing every week — often reaching roles before they're posted anywhere public, including the firm's own site.

Free to you, always — placement fees are paid by the hiring firm, never the candidate.

Step 1 — Your information

Your submission history, not a black box.

Every time your profile goes to an employer, it's logged — with your name attached, blind, or not at all, your choice. See exactly where you've been submitted, by whom, and when. No surprises, no double-submissions, no wondering who has your resume.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is CounselLedger?

CounselLedger is a legal recruiting platform for real estate and capital markets attorneys, built around two commitments most legal recruiters don't make: every job listing names the actual hiring firm (no blind postings), and every candidate submission is tracked so you can see exactly where your profile has gone, by whom, and when.

How does blind (anonymous) submission work?

When you apply, your profile is presented to a hiring manager without your name, current firm, or contact information attached — only your practice area, seniority, and an anonymized summary of your background. Your identity is only revealed to an employer after you specifically approve that reveal, request by request.

Do candidates pay to use CounselLedger?

No. Placement fees are paid by the hiring firm, never the candidate. Submitting a profile, applying to roles, and using the platform are free for attorneys.

How is CounselLedger different from other legal recruiters?

Two structural differences: employer names are never withheld on job listings, and candidates get a real, running record of their own submission history rather than having to trust a recruiter's word for where their resume has gone.

What is the fee split for outside recruiters?

47% to the recruiter who supplies the candidate, 47% to the recruiter who supplies the job order, with a flat 6% platform fee to CounselLedger — the same structure used by established networks like Top Echelon and NPAworldwide. A recruiter who sources both sides of a placement independently keeps 94%.

Can candidates see where their profile has been submitted?

Yes. Every submission is logged and visible to the candidate by looking up their own email — which employer, which role, and the current status (submitted blind, or reveal approved) — so there's no need to just take a recruiter's word for it.
